Hi,

I know, it is not the "standard" type normally seen on the degen...

It hang on an early Krebs degen I got recently, which came from a good source. Some collector friends mentioned, the knot is a fake, but I really like it.
It is constructed well, shows good aging (not artificially) and Im sure it was on the degen since ww2.
Could it be an earlier model?

I hope you experts could give comments on it.

Thanks for help!

It is a well made knot . Unfortunately the runes are the fatter type that are touching.

and that means...
I believe it is a reproduction.
I agree with Thundahbolt. The runes are too thick and the entire portepee looks as if it has been "artificially aged," perhaps to match the condition of the degen. Otherwise, it is pretty close to a real one. Others might have a different opinion, but I would not buy this as an original.
It looks just like the reproduction knots where the runes touched that were sold by Reddick a few years back. Looking at the ones on his website now that flaw has been corrected but the knots still don't compare with the originals.
