This why I recommend collectors buy only text book examples. It's a jungle out there!!!!

looks like he's gonna catch a few with his net of fantasy parts... the cross guards were kinda kool though ,I really wanted to see what they would sell for.

To each his own.

This guy is making a small fortune today with all this stuff, someone out there likes what he is selling. I think I better get back to my books, I must be missing something? real stuff sells cheap and fantasy stuff is worth a arm and a leg.

I think this is a good time for someone to buy up all these old and modern fakes and fantasy stuff for a really good book on what not to buy if you want to become a collector.you could market it on ebay or where ever you can get major sales and promotion . maybe then the real stuff will sell for what it's worth and the crap would sell for next to nothing as it should be in the first place. That guy had more then $12,000.00 in sales last nite on ebay and I believe it was all fake and that not one piece was real.

Did this guy sacrafice original guards or are the guards complete knock offs ?

Based on the uneven look to the crossguards, they are complete fakes

As for books on reproductions, I do not see any on the horizon. And, the challenge is that the thieves are moving quickly these days so what you publish now is already a bit dated.

I think forums like this one will be a source of help, but the real key is in-depth knowledge about what you are buying.
