The upper crossguard does not look to be early period,, as i see some lifting around the edges.,,, and also just my opinion,, the runes button looks brand new.

Mixed parts. Rusted early blade (May not be real) and lower crossguard. Later painted scabbard and aluminum eagle in the grip. SA or NSKK hanger.

I think the blade and lower guard are okay. The scabbard looks like a period paint job, which some do not find objectionable. The grip looks like an "Eickhorn" type, but the eagle is not right for the period, as Dave points out. I agree, from the photos, the upper guard looks like a later plated type. The leather is incorrect for an SS dagger, but you do occasionally see SS daggers with brown leather accoutrements that come "out of the woodwork. Of course, the hanger could be removed. For me, the grip eagle and upper guard are the main points of concern.

This dagger did not leave the Eickhorn factory in this configuration .
