Hi guys ,,
I just came a cross a stunning officer photo where you can see his SS degen and his totenkopfring,,
I guess his name is Preiner or Preuer? looking at his shoulder strap he was in the Deutchland regiment On another pic there is written Gefallen 10 X 1942 Terek kaukasus,, thats where he was killed,,
Is there any chance to get some more info on this guy?

Cheers

Ross are you still here on the forum :-)
Hi All:

Nice portrait! SS-Hauptsturmfhrer Otto Preuer, SS No. 4092 (NSDAP No. 198 604, DOB 25.6.1908) was killed in action in Malgobek, Russland on 10.10.1942. He has a SS Officer File and a Race & Settlement File in the National Archives. He has entries in the SS-Dienstalterlistes for 7/1935, 12/1936, 12/1937, 12/1938. Looks like he got that Ehrendegen in 1936.

Congrats!

Great pictures. I wonder why the collar tab is blank like tab of SD member?

Interesting first photo and a first for me to see with the early SA/SS 1929 style cap eagle being used with a 1938 style tunic. The combination of the the full jaw skull and small eagle was last used in 1935. In 1936 the SS eagle became full winged! Maybe Ross can find a comparable photo of this gent,, in his archives. The sleeve eagle on his arm in the first picture differs from the SS sleeve eagle in the 4th photo. I would be curious to see what that eagle was in the first photo. As 777 said I am curious also of the blank tab as nothing was mentioned of this officers involvement in the SD. confused
