Hello Gentrex. I personally have my doubts on the "inscription". the dagger it self looks good , might be a replaced handle- not sure.
that division was not a Panzer division till 22 oct 1943. buy this time , I don't believe they were still making SS daggers (or any other daggers).
If you can prove the inscription was of the era , then maybe a gift / award from a higher officer to a newer officer for some special battle field deed ?
again , I doubt it's original inscription. jeff
If Jeff says what is true then a Boker blade has been defaced and placed with a mid to late crossguard as Roman Numerals were present on Early SS daggers. I am not sure of this one either.
Has the look of a parts dagger, scabbard, handle, crossguard.
Total fake. Not only "Hohenstaufen" inscription is a bad, but every single piece of letter is bad. Nothing in this ugly dagger is similiar to an original Bker. Just another "aukro" junk.
Sorry for being so straight, but I really feel obliged to say what I mean and what I am 100% sure about.
That's not even a Boker motto.
The Trademark is also not a real Bker.
have you seen it?
Garbage
The division shield is wrong, each SS division had its own shield.
