Luftwaffe Honor Goblet - 03/30/2012 04:49 PM
Hello,
I had these pictures sent to me and wanted to know about authenticity. The reason for my request is the shape of the top wings on the top eagle. I saw the superb examples that John Z. and Pat posted however the wings on this one aren't the same. I know there are two versions of these goblets, the early ones made of 835 silver and the later ones which were silver plated "Alpaka" however they both look to be produced by the same dies. I didn't think there was a different variation of the second alpaka produced goblet. Here are some pictures. If this is indeed a reproduction it is by far better than the old reproductions I'm use to seeing which were way out of proportion and the eagles and cross were soldered on instead of embossed.
Thanks
Rich
