Personally, I've never developed a feel for these particular insignia. Best place I could think of for an opinion would be the SS Forum but you've already tried that.

Have you tried to email some SS cloth collecting individuals like Robert H. (http://www.robertcollectibles.com)? He's been able to help me in the past. Just an idea.
