Any additional information would be great. It has been sitting on a shelf in my den since 1984. I just noticed when I was resizing the pictures that the visors are green underneath.

It appears to be a war tme auxiliary police tschako. Black tschakos were used by trainees and aux. cops through the end of the NS-zeitgeist, as well as after the war. I believe the makers mark on yours places it during the pre-war years.

I agree with Bill. Look under the liner and make certain that it is not padded/re-enforced with new looking plastic.

No plastic under the liner. The front third appears to be what is left of some kind of foam. The rear two thirds is a strip of red felt.

That is what you want to see in a period Tschako.
