I got a small number of police photos yesterday. Not very exciting, but I found these photos of justice officials quite interesting cause they show some interesting headgear.

A mixture of two different overseas-caps is worn, see details:

Another photo also shows a mixture of uniforms and headgear:

In this lot are also a few late war photos, dated july 1944:

Details of the caps:

Note also the absence of collar tabs and shoulder-boards.

Thought You would like to see them. Even if not spectacular, you can learn a lot about uniforms from these photos.

Regards
Robert

Robert, no matter how many pictures one may see it is always interesting to view all the variations and transitions! Did those pictures happen to say what that building might be in the background, possibly a school?

Those policemen in the July 1944 photos must have recently received their new uniform feldbluse issue. That insignia on the one cap on the far left is interesting; perhaps he made use of a metal eagle whereas the others used cloth?

Thanks for posting!

Interesting transitional uniform pictures Robert. I think the first folks, with the six button tunics without breast pockets, are Baden Polizei. You also have a Gendarm or a Zollschutz fellow with the double breasted tunic and maybe some early Prussians. Quite a mix of uniforms.

The late war guys are not wearing collar tabs or rank. Possibly new uniforms as Dave suggests or perhaps a school? The school setting might explain the mix of uniforms as well as no insignia on the later guys.

Hey nice photos, did you notice the sleeve eagle is not attach very well on the guy on the far right.

Very interesting photos Robert, thanks for sharing. At least one fellow from the first photo is shown in the late war photo. I wonder if the last pics are part of a special field-judical unit of the police. Just a thought.
