I'm not a aviation collector, but a fellow collector friend has this boxed instrument for sale... Does anyone have any info on this device, how it was used, etc???

As far as I know its a Focke Wulf wire tensionmeter instrument used for measuring wire tension as well as the securing wires between lower and upper wings ot the aircraft. Anyone have any more info on this gubbins...

Red,

Would you e-mail me at [email protected]?

This device was probably used to check the tension on flying and landing wires on biplanes. Focke Wolf manufactured the well-known "Stieglitz" FW-44 training aircraft. This would have been a type it could be used on, I imagine.

Would be interested in purchasing.

Mike
