Hello U.S.A A little think for my favorite elector Republican McCain about your helmet, it's always the same problem, your helmet is original, but the insignia is very hard to tell... After the War, Lot of original helmet without insignia was added with a ss fake decal ps : the ss name is strange also...added after the war I think... I am not a Helmet guys, just a little collector, I wait the other opinion Sebastian.

These guys are right. More pics!! Be sure the closeup photos are clear, and, as I said, at different angles. On the upside, the decal does appear to have a nice metallic lustre, but the closeup is not clear enough. Closeups of the name would be nice too. If the decal is authentic, I wouldn't worry too much about the name. However, lots of fakers "embellish" their work to lend authenticity to the piece. ("Well, look here... the guy's name's in it!! That works for ME!!") In actuality, embellishments or additions are often a red flag. The writing looks a little too perfect for being done in the field, but that doesn't mean it's not authentic. MORE PICS!!!!!

It's the first time I've seen SS runes next to a name in a SS helmet.

SS decals are a tricky subject. You need close up of the decal. Email Darryl with good pictures of the helmet and decal. Then you will have your answer. Save alot BS and sleepless nights.
