I am interested in any information anyone may have relative to this kepi style hat. Origin, age, unit that wore it, and of course any collector value. Thanks for your help, R.W.

last one...the inside of the hat is essentially complete, but has dried out and started to come apart. Thanks for your help. R.W.

Further study shows that the badge on this hat includes the insignia of the Order of Knights of the Golden Fleece. The "FJI" seems to stand for Franz Joseph I. Does anyone have any thoughts in light of this additional info? Thanks, R.W.

Hi---Austria it is....wide gold band around the crown indicates a field grade officer from ca. 1895. Branch of military not determined. R.W.
