I bought this dagger from a major dealer, grades ex++ blade and grip are mint! The only thing that I find a bit odd was the grip fit to the bottom crossguard. It looks like it was manufactured this way since there is no evidence of brakeage or tampering. It is a RZM but is this caused by a bad fitting job or a combination of shrinkage?

Your thoughts please.

I have also noticed that most of the web sights are out of these daggers, I think they are undervalued and underappricated, maybe when Wittmanns book comes out then people will find the history of the NSKK exciting and generate more demand for these truly rare daggers.

If I am reading correctly, that is a 1942(?) dagger and I do not see a problem at all. In fact, you even see early ones with similar gaps. Som thing it is shrinkage and others thin that the sides of some grips were a bit short.

Dave it is a 1940 Circa blade. Note that Eickhorn used a VERY slinder Walnut or Mahogany grip that I find very attractive. I this gap is a bit larger then most of the other Eickhorns I have observed with the same date of MFG. Maybe it was made on a Friday evening or a Monday morning Wink

Looks rather a shrinkage problem than a parts dagger problem to me.

Didn't knoiw that Johnson is working on a NSKK book.
I guess I will keep mine for a little while longer.
