Hello,
Does anyone know if this type of "sliding clip" was used as a shoulder board attachment system prior to 1945? I know it WAS used post war.
The button would be "fixed" to the board, the board strap would be passed through the loop on the tunic, the strap button hole passed over this "clip", and then the clip slid into a small "pocket" sewn to the tunic shoulder.
In the photo the "clip" is not attached to the board.
I know the Japanese did it this way, but I have never seen it on a German civil uniform........until today????? The whole set up looks authentic with the tunic loops and pocket of the same material as the tunic. The attached board buttons are RZM marked, but again I have never seen this.
Thanks for any input.
Regards, William Unland

Hi Bill, here are only shoulderboards I have. They are, as You probably know, FFW. What time I'm not sure - may be prewar, war or afterwar... I've seen shouderboards attached this way on uniforms, but only on FFW pre-war & war uniforms... What Your shoulderboard is? Schupo? With RZM marking?

Dear Jiri, Thanks for the reply. The tunic is a Justiz tunic. RZM doesn't really apply so I think the tailor used the gold party buttons he had in the shop when he put it all together. Thanks I had not seen these clips in use before. It's the tunic at the end of this thread: http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1653059744/m/5420041694/p/2Regards, Bill Unland

Bill,
I think these are an OK variation. Here is a set of Imperial boards that are made in this manner.
