Just an update on this contest. Coburg22 won the contest, as you all know (interesting that his winning entry was also his first post on GDC). The reason I picked his entry was that I found that it perfectly encapsulated the historical significance of the Totenkopf Ring and why it is so fascinating to me. As the book will show, the ring is really a "marker" whose history closely parallels the rise and fall of the Third Reich. It also did not glorify the SS, which is something that a book on this subject could easily do. James: Please email me with your address and other contact information.
