Hi

I have been holding out for about two years to buy a really good nickel silver chained SS. The prices keep going up and I have had a good look at a few but never really been happy with them as I have had doubts about one thing or other.

The last one had a poor fitting blade and the chain just did not really feel right!. Anyhows I gave up last week and bought another really nice minty chained NSKK and a few other bits, someone who I buy stuff from rings me to tell me that he has a really nice 1936 chained plated one with perfect plating, grip, and anodised scabbard.. its at a really good price as well. Only thing is the blade is a bit dull. It is 100% genuine and honest piece just not the one I was holding on for.

Would you buy it and maybe sell it or exchange it when a better one comes up, or would you leave it in the hope of finding the almost perfect nickel/silver one?.

I would buy the one your looking at just incase you never find that special minty one your looking for. You can always re-sell after you find a better one and you'll probably make money on it as well. Think of it as a 401K that you can enjoy looking at and showing off to select friends. Mark

I agree with Ritterkreuz. The good plating and anodized scabbard is already worth going for.Thes SS chained beauties are very sought after.you can always upgrade but might kick yourself for passing on this one.

IMO it depends on how much money you're talking about, how "dull" the blade is, what caused it to be dull and if you're looking at a type I or type II plated piece.
