Just got off the phone with a collector-friend 'up here' in Oregon. As it turns out, this helmet was acquired by an associate of my friend's from a vet in Beaverton, OR on a bright, warm Sunday in 1984. Earlier, I had sent images of the helm to this friend, whereby, he immediately recognized the helmet from the tiny kachunka in the upper-left corner of the runic shield. "That's it!"
J. Goodman, who acquired the helmet from the vet, was told of if by another who just didn't have time to go see the thing.
Too bad.
Goodman kept it long enough to receive credit in the Baer book then sold it to the person from who I received it. Small world we helmet collectors inhabit.
Curiously, the helmet is back home in Oregon.
