The maker mark is a fake mark unfortunately. Need more pics under the sweatband etc for further comment, but that alone says non original for me. Seiler (Yank in UK)

I agree with the above--it is what we call a "ground-up" repro--no original parts, and fake from the ground up.

Hello! Seiler, S.Vestae, CurtD, Stonemint thank you very much for your quick answer. I am just a beginner in this topic and sometimes it is difficult for me to understand some things though I have thematic books. It is hard for me to see difference between an original thing and a repro one. Please, write what is wrong with this cap? What general's national emblems and SS death's heads are like except aluminium ones? Thank you.

Petsamo, start with this basic assumption, that everything you are showing is extremely rare. An SS generals cap is very rare and very expensive. If you paid less than 10,000 US it is most likely a fake. They probably go for twice that!! They are sold often person to person because most are well known for some time and have a ready buyer whenever the owner wants to sell. Always look at the eagle and skull and see if they are real or not first. If they are then the cap has a good chance because even those are hard to find and a faker will not put real stuff on a fake cap most likely. Age is so important because material must age after 60+ years. Much more can be said and this just scratches the surface. David

Dear Petsamo,
if you are a real Collector beginner, please Kill the ss caps, and other Ultra Rare items, take your time, choose a usual cap or other thing, maybe a simple Infanterie Wh cap, or a Luftshutz helm...
the "Phone number Muller" is a real Period Maker, but many fake and other craps manufactured post war in 1970 aprox...
Good Luck for your future caps and please post before
sebastien.

Vladimir,
Please take care before you buy anything this rare. Buy from someone with a good name and try to study where the pitch falls are. Even reputiable collectors/dealers can make mistakes, alas.
