Can some of you more knowledgeable collectors contribute to this thread by showing the new guys the basics of fake helmets ? How to spot changed out innards, bad strap, paint fakes, etc.

That might be a tall order indeed. The "basics" could be posted, but it would take a good bit of thought and organization. I think you might want to solicit seperate threads; one on shells, one on liners, one on chin straps, one on paint and decals etc. I for one am not very comfortable in all of these areas and would not want to lead the sheep astray..
