Just discovered this corrosion on one of my swords. I'm not sure how it appeared it was not their before and I keep Renwax on the blade. Can this be polish or buffed out without messing up the blade?

Hard to tell without seing it, but it appears that the blade was cleaned without killing the underlying corrosion, and it came back. It could be polished out but the amount of work needed depends on how deep it is.

Thanks for the reply. The corrosion does not appear to be that deep. This sword came with a matt finish which I have never seen on this type. I now wonder if the matt finish is the result of some good old polishing. Before I got hold of it.
