Willy,

This is the first time I've seen this fine style of buckle, it's a beauty! Most all the others that were attributed to Kaiserliche Marine/Schutztruppen only had the crown, motto and laurel leaves.

Have you ever seen another example like this one, with the anchor and oak leaves?

Anyone have an "in-wear" photo? Smile

Nice!

Bill

Personaly this is the only one I have seen in hand or book. I have been collecting buckles for 20+ years. When I first looked at it my reaction was (what the!) and I got to have that.

Willie, whatever this is, it is not a buckle for german Marine-Inf. oder Marine. Also nothing like this was worn in the colonies.

What you have, is an old orginal Leather strap with an original Buckle chest. The circle with the devise is later, I presume past 45.

Regards

Kolibri
