IMO Martin you have a very nice find there. I believe this is an example of period German engraving and it would be interesting if the actual engraver could be identified as well as the circumstances under which the dagger was presented.
With all the post war enhanced daggers that were done, primarily in Belgium, that have been posted at various times it's a pleasure to see an example like this one posted.
I'm sure if you decide to come over to one of the major shows many collectors would like to do a hands on examination.
