Hello Ryan, up to now I have not seen a mixture of nickle silver and aluminum chains/chain oarts on first pattern Luft daggers which looked doubtless period done. In my opinion it might happen (for what reason ever) that an earlier dagger has a later aluminum chain but no mixture within the chain itself. BUT we have to keep in mind that during the state of production a new (surplus) nickle silver chain part did look nearly identically to a new aluminum chain part so it MIGHT have happened that a worker did not check carefully and did put togethere such "improper" parts. What do we know.... BUT the question is also if you would like to have such a dagger with all it´s doubts in your collection. Regards,
