Don, if you would please add your example of the DRK brooch that was given out to the ladies who attended the 1939 ball in Vienna here for posterity.

Thanks, Joe

Sorry Joe, I didn't realised that I hadn't already done so.... blush

Here it is & to recap this little DRK brooch was given out to the ladies who attended the 1939 ball in Vienna. Apparently in Austria it is a tradition to this day to give ladies who attend balls a small gift. This is only the third one of these that I have seen, so I assume not many have survived.

Would anyone have something related to share? Awards, cloth, documents, period images.

Another member of staff also with helferin brooch, but this time with a Fauenschaft badge & a Kriegsverdienstmedaille ribbon & what looks to me to be one of the NSDAP long service medals ribbon bars?...

Great images Don. That last one is really sharp and distinct. The Helfrin clasp is indeed a rare piece.
The first staff member appears to be wearing a Red Cross or Social Welfare ribbon in a bow.
The small ribbon in the last picture is for the 1936 Olympic decoration. Most likely the commemorative medal since no eagle devise.
