I bought this dagger from auction. I was not able to find the same exact maker mark. Is it good or bad.

In my opinion the blade is a fake, maker mark has differences to original ones.

I have purchased and sold many daggers online and I have seen this same dagger before. It also had the same brass eagle that this one has. The dagger in my opinion is an authentic WW2 German dagger but the blade looks like it has alot of pitting and the handle looks polished. So if its going to cost you more than $1,200 I would pass even though you don't see many with the brass eagle.

I would not buy this dagger myself 1. The blade is too narrow. I have measured - with a digital caliper - many blades. From what I have seen they must be a minimum of 33mm wide with 33.5 - 34.2 being the norm. 2. It has an SA crossguard 3. The bottom hole of the grip has been very badly reworked. That is NOT the way it left the factory. Those I am sure about looking at the pictures. What needs more examination are the eagle, rune button and blade etching. Dave

The real mystery to me here is motivation. Why would someone go thru the trouble of making up a fake in this condition? Jim

This is a real SS German dagger in my opinion that has been restored more than ounce. People should learn to store there family treasures better. I would not pay more than $1000 in this condition

This guys only motivation apparently is ripping daggers apart to make them ebay friendly http://shop.ebay.com/burmakin/...&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340[For future reference, his auction page shows 5 blades, 3 scabbards including the SS that was with the dagger in this thread, and 3 sets of fittings].

1. I did not put the crossguards from this dagger on Ebay. 2. If you have any doubts about the scabbard, please post it here. 3. If I'm not mistaken you were the one who wrote here that this dagger is "100% authentic". quote: Originally posted by daggerguy: The black scabbard and crossgaurds are the same he has listed here asking good or bad but sells the parts on ebay as real? ebay item #290402044186

Should I ask for someones permission to sell a dagger parts on Ebay? Am I selling any suspicious (fake) items? It's not my fault that Ebay does not allow to sell these daggers other than by parts. If have any doubts about the SS scabbard ,please post it here and I'll remove it from Ebay.
