This small funnel is made of bronze and on it is depicted in irrigular “handmade” letters the name NÜRNBERG TRICHTER( funnel).
The Funnel belonged to the tradition of Nürnberg for a long time.
In old times they believed that you could insert Knowled with the Nünberg-funnel.

Maybe this bronze item is from the Nazi period or older…..? In it is inserted a little glass pearl.

Benten, you find the most interesting things. Thanks for posting. I have a similar small funnel. It’s for my hip flask and is helpful for pouring whisky into small glasses 😀🥃

I found a ring from 1942 with the Nürnberger Funnel aside.

It is a honorring made for Benno Martin, a high ranked SS officer and also chief of the Nürnberg police.
Made in gold and silver and delivered with a small round silvermade ring box with blue velvet inside.

If you whish to see nice pictures of the ring , please Google : Benno Martin ring

Evgeniy, A funnel is ‘Trichter’ in German. It’s the subject of this thread.

I don’t think it is anything to do with the military. The Nuremberg Funnel seems to have appeared in the 17th century.

According to an internet search: ‘The legendary Funnel of Nurnberg was said to make people wise very quickly when the right knowledge was poured in (to their heads, with the aid of the funnel)’.

There you go. Every day is a school day. There’s more in Wikipedia:

Actually, if you go back to p.1 of this thread, you’ll see that Benten already told us about the Nurnberg funnel when he posted it.
