Hi folks,

This is a great thread. Some amazing rings here.

Here are patriotic rings from my collection. The one on the left is tiny, probably made for a woman or a child. It barely fits over the first knuckle of my pinky. There is no silver mark but it looks like silver. Odal posted an identical ring on p.3 of this thread. The German-Italian Unity ring is a big brute.

Please let me know if you'd like more detailed photos of any of these.

Cheers,

Stephen

Hi Gaspare,
Here you go. 935 Silver content mark. I like this ring. It was well-worn back in the day but still in decent condition, apart from that missing chunk of black lacquer.
Best wishes,
Stephen

The last posted one here above is a nice and certainly rare ring with these floral motives aside. Thanks for showing .

I believe some of the nicer quality made items shown on this thread were approved to make and sale. So would not really be considered Kitsch. Best!

benten,

I was sure that I had seen something "very similar in shape" before. Not exact but close enough. They were making this style of women rings around 1912 and possibly earlier. Not that far off from the art deco period and possibly continuing into the 30's and 40's. I'm not positive about that, meaning I have no proof and would have to look through my stuff lol. They used precious gem stones rubies on the face as the center piece. So yours is possibly a very well done modification during the period? I just think it's premature to call these HJ rings without further study IMO.
