Hi gents,
I recently purchased this miniature Kriegsmarine that according to seller is Italian toy. It is 6 inches long and very well made. Can somebody please shade the light on what it is? Is this the Italian toy or German salesman sample?
Thanks,
Alex

I found that exactly the same dagger sold as salesmans sample:

Miniature Kriegsmarine

Can I assume this is the salesmans sample?

Although the length is about right, the fitting, swastika, fit, and overall detailing (workmanship) indicate an inexpensive reproduction; similar to "kit" miniatures offered in the 1980s. In my opinion, a cute little piece (too small to be a child's toy), but certainly not a period German made miniature dagger. Sorry, hope you bought it at a reasonable price.

A fair price. It would make a nice complimentary piece in a display with a standard navy dagger.

The workmanship is terrible an obvious fake, but for the price you can't go far wrong

The fact that its made in Italy doesnt make it fake. Its more detailed than ANY German made miniatures. Keep in mind that its only six inches long, so all pictures posted here are 3X 8X magnifications.

Alex, I don't know what German miniatures you looked at but the quality of a real German mini is much better than that of your obvious fake. Sorry.
