Just picked up this older Hunting piece, think it is original. Have not tried to clean it or anything, grips is dark wood. Any ideas? Not sure what the writing is either, blade is in ok shape with etching on both sides, one side ahs hunter etc. other the name?
Any help in ID and age would be appreciated.
thanks
James

IMHO this is a Chinese copy based on the European copy.

It seems that the "famous Chinese master" has not studied a foreign language. Therefore, "WAIDMANNSHEIL" is inside out. Here is a comparison with the well-known European copy. Now this inscription no one is misleading. Regards, ______________ Sergey.

BTW - WAIDMANNSHEIL ! This is the historical German greeting of hunters who meet in the forest.
Regards, ______________ Sergey.
