I've seen that top one show up on eBay once in a while - G said "too weird for me!" I finally realized that spaced out moose looking thing is supposed to be the lion (but it's sideways). Still looks s$$ty even sideways.. (wtf is it sideways?!?) weird a$$ ring to me. Even if it was real it would still look like crap IMHO

Concerning the socalled "Langemarck" ring, you can clearly see that the cartouche is a seperate part. Perhaps kind of plastic, perhaps mother-of-pearl looking. It obviously was taken from any separate item and -at any time- put into the old ring. Which might have had a stone in it. Therefore, as the lion is from another item, it is not correctly fitting the ring and looks sideways.
You might bet when the cartouche was put in, you will never know for sure.
