Well,,Thursday early a.m. I leave for the MAX show... The show has been bought out by the SOS show and should be a little different,,we hope! As usual 'MilitaryNut' will be there with some stunning Honor Rings. And, this year will be selling some of his wonderful private purchase rings both German and US... I have bought a few rings a while ago but have not shown them due to I still owe final payment I'll be making at the MAX. So I'll be showing them when back and hopefully there will be a diamond in the rough for me to grab up at the show... I don't have a table this year but If the 'Nut'doesn't mind I'll be frequenting his table.. So,,I look forward to a road trip, some German food, some drinks and seeing some of my old and best buddies,,,have a good show guys!!!

Show report... Got 9 great rings..from left to right- 1943 Iraq with pgc insignia. Big beautiful ring...4th armored division ww2 ring, nice enamel... Salonika 1941, swas in the upper right...(seller claims paratroop, but could be one of many possibilities)..Algiers 1942, steel.... Korea 1952 with a skull...brass? ... The next three skulls came with an assist from Gaspare, and a blessing, which helps!...they are all from Bob hritz, a great collector and super nice guy...red eyes is a premium (us made) ring, the other two are nice examples of period patterns...finally a nice Palermo ring in steel. Great show, thanks especially to Bob hritz and Gaspare. Better pics coming on the ring forum later. Thanks max show and all my friends, God bless, Mike

some more...,, and a ring. This was the going prices at the bigger dealers tables. With careful looking you can still get lucky as Mike did! This is a big head WestWall ring with red glass eyes. It was so over polished that when I went to look at it I just handed it back to the dealer. For me ruined..
More later.................

Much thanks for this impressions G! For me nearly as to visit the show itself.
This Westwall one you meanwhile can see on this russian ring site at vk.com. In my eyes a still nice one and rare.

Great Gaspare!
Would you believe I forgot my camera this year?
And, the rain is over. 73 and sunny today .... 80 tomorrow.
Your place still dry, Gaz?
As that picture above shows, I chatted with Vinnie a couple of times. He lives in Missouri now and own/runs a coin shop. I encouraged him to stop by here.
Dave

thanks guys...
Dave it was close! A few houses in my town got 5 or so inches in the house, which is terrible! , but we somehow made it!
Guys, whatever you can imagine the show is it is so much more. I'm not sure of the table count but its got to be around 1000 vendors.. Everything is here, from the common Russian Front medal to Blood Orders and personality presentation daggers! Here's a few more,,[rare flag here!]

One photo here is a small spot on Ross Kelbaughs table. He's a fine researcher on SS daggers, swords etc. and of course the Honor Ring. I've heard he's one of the best on going thru the tons of microfilm and sends a highly professional packet on the mans records/information..

Well, here are the rings I've been paying off the last 6 months and picked up at the MAX. They were from the 'Nuts' private collection which he's had a very long time. These are patterns I didn't have and needed. So they are passed down from one ring collector to another and I'm making room for them in my collection after I photograph them to death for the book.

Been after the 'Bold Swastika' pattern a long time! Now I need it's brother with the glass stones in it! The Estonian is well made and another I've been looking for a long time. And, yes the nice black enamel of a SS ring The FS ring [women's organization] is one of the rarest organizational rings made during the 3rd reich period.
