I'll have to pass on this one, I can't match it up to any of my photo examples, and I've never seen that type of hinge / and pin set up on a spange before. Sorry that I can't help.

thank jamie if its a fake it must be quite a rare type! has anyone else seen this spange before? i bought it from a well respected uk dealer who guarentees his items to be pre 45

Still to much light, but it looks like the Unknown maker spange. Please compare it to mine and you maybe able to tell. Jim

i would say the first eagle is not an exact match to the second one,that being said,i believe first example to be a good reproduction...

sorry to be a nuicance but if this spange is wrong i have to take it back sunday if its a fake would there not be lots of them ,the same goes for if its genuine i suppose, as the cost of making the tooling would be very expensive has anyone else seen this type fake or not?

Nick, take it back, there are inconsistancies with it, straight shoulder on left, the knuckles on the toes are almost straight. You can see this when comparing to mine. There are a lot of fake EKI spanges out there made by Floch and another called Raptor. Jim
