Howdy folks,

I'm doing some research on the Nazi group called werewolf. According to some history books Nazi Germany started with the werewolf in 1944; the werewolf werewolfs would operate behind enemy lines and would cause chaos and confusion within the allied ranks.

More info would be more than welcome. I know that there are several books about this toppic but maybe some of you know/knew a vet that had a personal confrontation with the werewolf....

For the most part, the expected post war activities of Germans never materialized after May 8th, 1945.

Intelligence had suspected that some die hards might make a stand in the mountains and use the experience gained when the Germans had faced partisans during the war proper.

By May,1945 most people had had enough and the desire to pick up the pieces and rebuild a shattered country became paramount.

I agree there were tough times directly after the surrender,,,a demented dream of some SS and HJ fanatics..

I do remember my uncle saying at wars end and shortly after they would sometimes find packages of cigarettes/tobacco, food stuffs etc. and they were strictly forbidden to open and use any of them because they were believed to be 'booby trapped' and /or poisoned!,maybe done by these Werewolf or werewolf wannabes........

A friend of mine has a helmet and from a veteran that killed a werewolf member in Germany. He was a Canadian soldier... One night he was on guard duty when he got approached from behind by a German soldier (he says approx 16 y/o). The German stabbed him in the neck however the vet was able to kill his opponent. The young German was wearing a Luftwaffe helmet (M40 SD) with painted SS runes on it. He was also wearing a swastika armband and had KM Binoculars.

That night 3 Germans died. The vet says that he found it really strange that these German "soldiers" were so young and so fanatic. They were all dressed in black.

I presume that this was a werewolf attack however I'll need to investigate this a bit more. I checked with a friend of mine who's a historian working for the History Channel and he agrees that this might be a werewolf attack.

Them Germans were pretty fanatic I must say. There's some nice documentaries on youtube about the werewolf and there are some good books in circulation. There are one or two books on my wish list...

Anyway, as soon as I get more info on this possible werewolf attack I'll be posting it here on the forum.
I'll try to get some pics of the helmet and the painted SS decal.
