I think the scratches on the exterior look like an attempt and aging/wear. Other than that, I was fooled. Although, now looking at it again, the buckles and such inside seem much more aged than the outside of the shell, why would that normally happen? Heartbreaker.

Paul, Nice to see you around again! Unfortunately on this helmet I think the entire think is bad. The differences are subtle but definitely there, I hope you did not pay too much. I hope to see you at the shows with Ed! Bob

Fake decals, badly applied fake camo paint that has been poorly aged by rubbing with sandpaper , helmet shell looks fake , liner looks fake , lots of fake rustification to the inside of the shell , there would be a score line on the rolled lip , the helmet would be maker marked , Sorry to say . Rob

I wasn't a fan of this helmet when it was first posted: I didn't like the new looking rust, paint job or the decals for starters,,,I was waiting for others to state their opinions, which I agree with wholeheartedly,,,I also hope you didn't pay a lot for this helmet....

I nicked this photo of the WAF , you can see the tooling line in the rim lip and the thickness and quality of the metal , and the stamp ( though of course these are faked as well) . Rob Well I cant seem to find the add photo part ? I will try later Rob Nope cant find it I will add the link . Rob http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=566713

Bad helmet, liner bands on fjs are one solid band and not split, straps show obvious differences in aging from the rest of the helmet, obviously fake luft decal. Nice re-enactor fj though.
