Agree a nice dagger but get rid of that green slime under the vertical hanger and like Larry said, I would treat the leather.

That green slime eats away at the nickel silver. There is not a lot of that hanger left, so be gentle as you take it off.

Nice dagger Gerd, i hope to see it in reality soon!!!
@Dave Hohaus, why does the green slime eats the nickel silver? i think its "greenspan" and nothing that will kill the nickel silver, its like patina?
Greetings Rieny

Congrats on your new SS. I've got 807/36 (unfortunately not as nice as yours)- a woodwork find from Berlin area. Just imagine, some say the 807's are post war...

I guess i've seen your 807.It looks also fine! A other member of this Forum(John) owns also an RZM 807/37. I've seen more fakes as originals with this TM. Regards, Gerd

@Alien Do You mean my dagger is a copy,or generally the 807/37?? This list is also not complete. How about RZM 1052/39? As far as i know, this list belongs to Neal Jackson. John(Vintagetime)owns the same dagger, with the same etch pattern. I'm looking forward for your evidence.
@Oli, sorry this dagger is not for sale. Thanks Lukas and Kurt! Kurt, ich wei das du den 807/36 hast. Regards, Gerd

Vitaliy, are those specialists saying all 807's are post war or only the 807/37?

Vitaliy, are those specialists saying all 807's are post war or only the 807/37? Adam, i guess he thinks only 807/37 are post war. If you take a look at the list showed upper, in year 1936 he has maker 807, but in the year 1937 not. BUT...if will be true, why someone makes a post war dagger 807/37, which would be mean, creating nonsense and not just use existing mark 807/36? It doesn't make sense to me. Lukas.

Luko, it not I think so! I simply took away on a discussion that comes into question on the Russian forums. Also write that about such manufacturer 807/37 not mentioned in edition of T.Wittmann Vitaliy

Well, those lists are not 100% complete. They are not official 3rd Reich lists of manufacturers, they're only collectors research. Some new, previously unknown RZM makers still pop up from time to time. Probably the quantity of daggers produced in '37 was very small, and they are much rarer than 807/36.

Hi all, after i removed the vertical hanger from the scabbard, here are some new pics of it. It's marked with 1/36 and it's personalized11/88 above the RZM and with D Mester/ Dr Muster below. Or simply J Mester But it's hard to show it on the pics. Here it is Regards, Gerd

Hehe, nice surprise. Perhaps "88" stands for the SS Fustandarte from Bremen? Which part of Germany you got it from?

Hehe, nice surprise. Perhaps "88" stands for the SS Fustandarte from Bremen? Which part of Germany you got it from? This dagger came out of a source in Bremen. I followed the advice of Erich and Larry ,to treat the leather and finally found the markings. Thanks guys Gerd

Hi Gerd: Congrats on your dagger. There is a Dr. Heinrich Mester in the Master Index of SS Names in the National Archives. He has a SS Officer File and a Race & Settlement ( Rasse-und Siedlungs) File. I'll try to take a look at them on my next visit. Hi Gerd: Congrats! Turns out that it was not the Dr. Mester. It was SS-Rottenfhrer Diedrich Mester, SS No. 59 314, SS-Sturm 11/ 88. SS-Standarte. He has an extensive Race & Settlement File that include the extra bonus of his two stammkartes and 2 SS membership file cards. These must have been added to his file during the "big sort" of captured SS records at the end of the war since they were not required for the marriage application. Contact me for more information. Enjoy! Ross Kelbaugh www.ssdaggers.comwww.ss-numbers.comwww.HistoricGraphics.com
