Hi Luis,

It's about time you treated yourself after thirty years of patient waiting, well done! grin I wish you many years of enjoyment collecting German daggers, if that's your intention? It's a seriously excellent hobby.

The gentlemen here on these forums can be of great help and service to you if you have questions, we have many friends who are well versed and quite knowledgeable on the subject of Third Reich edged weapons.

Not the best conditioned dagger in the world but it's real, and as Ryan said, it can be repaired and restored to its original specs should you choose to do so. Enjoy yourself and best of luck! wink

Bill

If you desire, the grip can be restored. Keep an eye out for an original runes button, but be aware there are many, many reproductions out there. Congratulations on your find!

I would leave as it is now, it remains an interesting SS Dagger despite his condition.
