I got a cheap Heer dagger in the for-sale section here with 2 dents in the scabbard. Blade plating is also half peeled off. Does anyone fix dents (one little slit is there too from one of the dents)? Should I leave the peeling plating alone, or just get rid of the rest of it myself? I'd at least like it to look nice when in the scabbard. (yes, I know the pommel is wrong as well).

Well Tom Wittmann has a "Dent removal" service
and very good it is.Just did a hammered Navy for me.
Super and quick. Many Army scabbards were silvered.
If you want to go down that road, then most manufacturing jewellers can strip and replate lightly.

Don Swanson in Missouri does excellent work. The last phone number I have for him is 573-474-8003. He resides in or near Columbia.

Hmmm, is it less than buying a scabbard by itself? I'm not sure about calling that number, unless it's a work number or something.

Swanson has a good rep. but not easy to get a hold of IMO.
Personally,I would look for a decent scabbard. They are
always at my local shows.
Wittmann is about a $100,but I,m sure if you ask him or Johnson
they will probably have something.

Don is retired and usually at home. That is his home number. The best time to reach him is on the evenings. I have no idea what he charges to remove a dent. You would have to discuss that with him. As much as I hate to say it, scabbards appear on eBay fairly frequently, but you never know what might happen there. Since the scabbard you have is not in the best shape (no offense), looking for a replacement would likely be more practical and you could acquire a nicer example.

Being that the blade is peeling and the pommel is also bad, starting over from scratch may be a better idea. I'd rather stay away from ebay.
