Hey Spacey, good question,, this type eagle is an 1929 SA/SS cap eagle. During that period when the SA was the #1 political force,, this cap eagle was used on their Kepis and the SS was (a small branch of the SA) during that time as a protection unit,, also used this style eagle on their hats during that time period, up unto 1935.
So yes to your question it is matched to this dagger since both the dagger and SA eagle are early period. The dagger and eagle are separate and not from the original owner. Cap eagles, armbands and belt buckles IMO help enhance any display or collection. Below is my link to a Haco SA dagger I posted with the use of an SA belt buckle and an armband.
