Hello Vern,Nice collection !Are these yours?Would they have used the same dies for gold coins(Same image but higher value)Also was the hammer head the die or was the coin pounded into a die? Thanks Geoff.

Yes, these are mine. The obverse (heads) was put in the anvil and the reverse (tails) was a hand held die. Put a piece of silver in between them and hit the die with a big hammer I think the dies for gold and silver were different.
