For those interested in trench made' type or 'Campaign made' type rings here's a great site.
,,,although in French and also shows other items, there are plenty of rings to view.
Also, very interesting WW 1 vintage period photos of soldiers making the rings! , and to the 'nay sayers' if they were doing it in WW 1 they certainly were doing it in WW 2,,enjoy.......

"Trench Art"...I have a fairly extensive collection myself. Shells, cigarette lighters, lamps, etc.
Good book on the subject is "Trench Art" by Kimball.
This is a NEAT site!
Btw, YES, they WERE making the stuff in WWII. I myself made several ashtrays from 90mm shell casings in the early 1960's.

I must have my daughter take pics one day.
I have at least 14 lamps, some from shells ,one from a WWII grenade, one from a 60mm mortar round. Two caps, several cigarette lighters, etc, etc.

I also like to share with you my brass trench crussifix from WW 1. The place on the foot is "Dixmuide" a wellknown WW1 scene in Belgium

The exact date for these ww1 objects is not clear, could also be years 20ties.

Hi Joe,

Yes I too think it is an interesting way of a two piece construction.
The maker in the trench needed no rivet or solder.

found a couple of pieces made 'over there'.... The Anzio was an Uncles and had a leather strap. This went under in the flood. Strap didn't make it but it still looks great..

- the 12th Armored Div. bracelet is tough to wear but looks cool and the engraving is a beauty!

please feel free to post any martial theme 'trench' items....
