Hi Folks,

I recently picked up a large grouping of modern US Medals. I like the purple Heart.

I recently retired from the Navy and know at the Navy or Army exchange these full size medals are about 40-50 ish.

I know cause Ive had to buy them for my uniform...HAHA

What are these running outside active duty.... 10-30 each?

thanks for any info.

I even have a named one.

The newer heart I dont see for sale. The other boxed one for merit is like 10 to 20. The air medal is like 10 to 15. The others are like 5 to 10 each. I am not sure about the one that you have piced with the air medal. Check the good conducts on the bottom to see if they are numbered. Loose numbered ones are worth 25 or so. Which one is the named one?

I saw one of the newer named purple hearts sell for $75.00. This was at an auction with several collectors in the crowd, so I assumed it was a high price.

That's kind of high on a new one, unless you have some history with it.

I figured it was a high price and didn't bid. I have an older boxed style named purple heart, but don't know any history behind it.

Would 150 for all be reasonable?

Heck that is only 12 bucks and some change EACH??

I've run in to many of these current US medals in deals and they're hard to unload. I'd sell the lot for $100- $125 and be happy. IMO
