hey guys I don't know that much about these pieces but i just didn't like the look of this one, and I wrong?

Looks fine to me, no red flags that I can spot. Everything is typical for a late Alcoso, in fact it has a lot of lacquer still present on the hilt. It has the second last TM used by the firm, correct scabbard band and rings, typical crossguard style... The pommel screw has been buggered and appears to have a slight mismatch in terms of finish/patina, but otherwise I think it's a good looking dagger, what are your concerns?

For one, I really don't like the pommel screw like you said. It doesnt look to match at all, what are you thoughts on why this looks different and how this affects its value and desirability. It worries me quite a lot. other than that, I thought it looked ok, but I think this is a large issue. What you guys think value should be put at on this?

I think the plating later on wasn't as good, as evidenced by the brassing seen on the rest of the dagger. The plating probably doesn't stick well to a hardened screw, or maybe they didn't bother to plate it. Anyone else have a later example?

I don't have a later example, but you can see the plating lift on the one that I used to own.

Is it me or is there a 'swirly'pattern to the scabbard stippling?? can we see a more distant view of the scabbard??

From time to time I already saw ALCOSO gov daggers with a head screw which did not match the overall look of the dagger. As already said it might be a different material of the screw (have already seen some with a kind of leightweight material or pot metal material) therefore the plating obviously did not hold as well as on early brass or nicklesilver screws.
So personally I would not worry about this certains head screw of the dagger in question.
