Pics are a little "far" from the blade. I will preface this by saying that you should have a very good in-hand inspection by someone who knows, but I will go out on a limb and day:
The inscription contains the few EP&S characteristics that I am aware of. I know this is risky... but I would say this one is "OK".
I am not saying "buy it" I am just saying, from the pics. it looks like it could be good, and if I were you I would investigate further. But then I tend to be am optomistic kind of guy.
Others opinions?
Pics of the MM would be nice.
Good hunting, Johnny

Looks like a copy, has the traits of an early Reddick blade IMO.

Hi Patrick,
Sorry, but I don't like this blade. The Rohm inscription is the correct pattern for Pack, but the trademark is dubious, having the open-hammer version with the large ampersand and large "P". Secondly the crossgraining is very deep and pronounced similar to the early Reddick blades. The early Reddicks had very good facsimilies of mottos and inscriptions and remain quite convincing on many Rohms with the exception of Eickhorns which are easy to spot. E-Pack Rohms are tricky at the best of times as they are the most frequently faked...
Do you perhaps have good pics of the complete dagger?

Maltarese - As usual, I was a bit too entusiastic. With the better photos, I am very concerned about the crossgrain, makers mark, and a few flaws in the inscription. Sorry... Looked good from a distance. Johnny

Thanks. No problems Johnny. It's not easy to answer on photos.
Best regards. JC
