These are some of my collection I keep locked away in a safe deposite vault. But I like to take some out and fondle them. I will post more as time permits. There is 8 or 9 images so wait until they all load. Photo quality sucks and the close ups did not come out. #1

I will try to get close ups of the blades. I don't know if it is my eyes or what but they came out blurry. All are Eickhorns and purchased from Wittman many years ago when I had money. I need to learn better photography skills. These are put back in the vault so it will be next weekend before I can get them out again plus others. Thanks for your comments.

Thank you very much for all of your kind comments. I admit my photography skills leave a lot to be desired and in no way do these pieces justice. My plan to to get a better camera and build some kind of photo lighting booth and experiment to get the best quality possible. Then I will post these and more to share with you. I have not even scratch the surface of rare and hard to find Daggers and swords..... YET. I also need to email JR for some lessons. His camera work is outstanding. Thanks again guys.

Hey JR that sounds great, let me know ahead of time and I will get some goodies out for you to shoot. Maybe at the same time you could give me some pointers.
Actually I got into this hobby in the early 70's when you could get all kinds of edged weapons dirt cheap compared to todays prices. I just tend to stash stuff away and hoard it like a packrat and keep a low profile.
Sa's for 20 or 30 bucks, EK1 and EK2 for 10 or 15 bucks. Pretty much the same on most combat badges. Oh yes, those were the days. I remember one day at a garage sale I found in a junk box a vaulted EK1, a silver SA sports badge, a black wound badge and a German Cross in gold. All in beautiful shape. I bought them for 2 bucks a piece.
Those days are gone and will never return, what a shame.

Those are real "dream daggers", Donnie!
I wonder where one can find such super pieces?
You should size your pictures differently in order to get a better effect/view.

What fantastic daggers. Might I suggest buying a cheapo scanner from a computer supa store and simply scan the images. Most scanners come with a photo editor so you can then play with the pictures. zoom in/out, crop, adjust tones etc. Epsom make a good one`s and any computer guy will advise on the specification. The only drawback is they are A4 size only, so for big items a waste.
Congratulations on a fine stash......

Vetter, I have received some of the below emails and posts that you have made on GDC in the past. They puzzle me on some of the question that you ask, and some of the photo that you have posted, in that I find it difficult to imagine that the same collector who owns some very special and expensive SA's listed above, is the same collector that is asking about buying repos and what the purpose of blade crossgraining is. What am I missing here ? Are thees dagger in fact yours truly ? Hello, my name is Vetter Von Kuntenkisser and I have bought and still have a few reproductions in my collection. These very early high quality reproductions are used in different displays when needed. Of course the bulk of the Bunker is original in every way. But sometimes in order to make a complete display of your presentation the reproduction fills in. I don't have 2 or 3 thousand dollars to buy a piece or two to have the entire display original but it is a set goal. In the meantime I still love my collection. When I win the lottery and if there is any money left after we get the layaways out of Walmart I will replace the reproductions with originals and sell the fine high quality reproductions as such. Reproductions. "Living well is the best revenge." Vetter 3/24/02 Posted 07 June 2001 10:06 07 June 2001 10:06 I agree with FBC and my good friend JODAGGER. Being fairly new to the hobby I don't mind a reproduction Dagger of very high quality for a filler until an original can be located. Presently my meager collection is 25 Daggers with three of them repos. Two Atwood era Daggers and one piece of crap. With good friends like jodagger, reference books and honest input from GD members I am learning quickly. Thanks to you all. Posted 16 June 2001 21:17 16 June 2001 21:17 Greetings, It's no secret I am a novice in the hobby but this particular topic inspired me to seek out education on the matter.Opinions are like As****es, every body has one. The first time I saw this dagger was on Ebay. The discription was honest and to the factual point. A "Black Grip Army Dagger" with a very modest reserve.I posted a bid to buy it because,Damn! I wanted that dagger. After a day or two I checked the status of my bid and time left but the top bid went way out of my range. The next time I saw it the winning bidder had posted it on EBAY with a higher reserve than what he paid. If the understanding of my research is wrong I stand to be corrected. A railways grip has the same spiral configuration as the Army grip, the ONLY difference is its black. The original scan of this dagger, along with the discription is not only accurate, but honest. What I have a problem with is why this topic ends up in the reproduction forum. Think about it,if some dumbass on ebay shells out that much money on an honest item that could have been bought for 200.00 dollars from the original owner then who polices the police. I trust the first seller,an honest man with a honest discription of this dagger. [This message was edited by Vetter on 16 June 2001 at 21:30.] Posted 07 June 2001 21:15 07 June 2001 21:15 First off let me say I have finally found THE site for a fascinating hobby. I hope I am not digging up a dead horse out of the archives to beat to death again. But I am curious about the opinion of the more advanced, experenced GD collectors. In your individual opinions: Is there a time to clean a Dagger,If so Why? Or do you feel there should be no cleaning, and if so Why? New to the hobby collectors please feel free to offer you opinions as well. I have not responded to this until now because I read the post right before I left for work. I work 2nd. shift and just got home. First off JR I was totally surprised by your post. What is upsetting even more is the people I thought were friends ( Bob Rodgers, Kingtiger, Pat and the others) were all to quick to jump on your bandwagon. Who the hell are you to question me or my motives? You don't know me or anything about me. Just exacally what is your motive for stirring up this crap. Although I feel I don't owe you or anyone else an explanation for anything I say or do I feel it is needed since you choose to do this publically instead of emailing me with what you seem to think is your business.
When I first joined GDC in 2000 or 2001 I had been collecting since the early 70's. As you can see in the one thread about my writting well known TR individuals I was met with a lot of crap that I was full of ****.
If I am guilty of any untruths it is only that back then I played dumb and asked dumb novice questions and led on about being new to the hobby to test the waters of the so called "experts" at the time.
So yes, I am guilty of that and that only. You seem to have taken it on yourself to expose me as some kind of fraud and now just by your post you have others posting smartass comments about me. Just what is your motive JR and what do you expect to gain from this slander.
You even commented you were coming this way soon and bring your camera. I welcomed you and would have let you photo anything you wanted and share my time and collection with you. That invitation is no longer standing. I don't have one damn thing to prove to you or anyone else. It is easy for me to see now why so many of the early members have quit this site. Now you can add me to that list. In no way will I put up with or tolerate chicken**** people like you. If you ever do come this way please be sure and look me up. I would very much enjoy confronting you face to face on this issue.
You and your cohorts can take your witch hunt elsewhere, there is no witches to burn here. If the rest of you guys want to ride along with these false accusations by this guy then that is your choice. Thanks for nothing. I said or did nothing to anyone to warrant this, and I damn sure did not deserve this kind of treatment from what I thought were collector friends.

Vetter, First of all, I have not insinuated a single accusation on this topic other that being totally amazed that you have never posted these very rare daggers on GDC since becoming a member 5 years ago. Stating that you have 6 SS Chain Daggers that you will be soon posting, had me crying in my beer that me, being the biggest SS dagger nut of all, and having to wait for 5 years to see these and the other high leaders daggers that you posted Saturday. When I commented about these beautiful SA's on the forum, in came the influx of emails telling me sadly that the daggers were not yours. Several members had searched your past post and forwarded those as well.
You have a lot of friends on GDC and have since the beginning. You have never had anything other than kind words on every one of my post or topics. When a new collector is excited about obtaining their first tinnie or EKII to start their collection, the whole membership of GDC is just as excited for them as they are. All that a person need to be on this site, is himself and nobody else. You'll never be judged by the materialistic items that you own in this world, nor the accomplishments that you did purely to merit yourself.
US Honorable Veteran, 35 year 3rd Reich collector, Bell Helicopter employee, Black Belt martial artist, and owner of those High Leader SA's. If these that you stated in your past posts are you My Friend, I kneel down on my dagger and apologize to the world. Just be you Donnie................ that is all that anybody ever wanted.

I am what I am and thats who I am. I also own a Corvette, a faithful dog, a good reputation and a bad temper when wronged. I don't have to prove the Daggers are mine. Let the influx of the email authors prove they are not. They can't and I no longer care about there opinions. You can all think what you will and it showed in the additional post, especiall that "So much for Donnie/Vetter" and my apparent "Sad crash landing" in the Twilight Zone. Very quick to judge without so much as giving me the time and chance to defend myself. No members stood up for me, old or new.
This is my last word on this. I won't be back on the sight. I have had to deal with too much in the last four years and I don't have the time or desire to put up with any bull**** of any kind from anybody.
Hell, how do I know that your stuff is good or even belong to you. How do I know the photography work is yours or the work of a studio? I don't, but I also never questioned it. It never entered my mind because that is the kind of man I am. You only thought I had a lot of friends here, so did I. In the future try to give someone the benefit of a doubt, you'll feel better about yourself.
Happy hunting all and enjoy the hobby, I am.
Bye
