Hi All:

In case you still haven't spent that economic stimulus check, I noticed this "Full Rhm" Eickhorn for sale on the Regimentals website. It is numbered 54 361 which was Sturmbannfhrer Horst Schrer. He turns up in the 1938 Dienstaltersliste with Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler and 12 Panzer Div. Hitler Jugend in 1944. Yet another naughty Nazi connected to LSSAH that didn't follow directions! I haven't been able to check yet to see how much info there is about him in the Archives.

Here is the link (it is item 10099):

Enjoy!

Quite so Seiler which is typical of most U.K. dealers. Why I have only ever bought one dagger from a U.K. dealer. There is only one I would recommend without reservation.

I have examined this one "in hand".
For me it is too much money. for the
overall condition. Somebody
else can spend their huge US Govt check on it
Not me.And I know Andy...
Perhaps you??? Smile Smile

If Seiler examined it and says it's "too much money" then it's "too much" for probably 99% of us.
And it sounds like I don't want to know "Andy" either. Wink ... But I do miss out on a lot of "sleepers". Big Grin

Hi,
I was casting no bad thoughts on Andy.He is an OK guy and knows his stuff and is well connected
with several US "names".I recall he thought the Rohm was possibly "Sold",,maybe..to US??
Any way for what it is condition wise, not for me.BUT I am a fusspot!!!

PS,
Fred Stephens and a couple of his collector friends had a look also at the same time.
Checking the etch/inscription more than anything else.We were all in agreement on originality. No question. But a bit " tired " for the price compared with some in the past year or so elsewhere.
Cheers. Wink

Hi All:

I finally got the chance to look into Sturmbannfhrer Horst Schrer, SS No. 54 361 at the Archives. He has an SS Officer File and a Race & Settlement File. The latter included two of the three required photos which were low contrast (the copies I post are all made from the microfilm which is not a good medium for photo reproduction). But it is always interesting to connect a face with the object.

Enjoy!

Here is his personal Fragebogen (questionnaire) that he filed with the Race & Settlement application. These are always useful in providing a snapshot of the SS Mann's career up to that point.

This is a part of his Stammrollen or personnel record card that documents his SS career up through 1938. It is interesting to note that according to this, he had not received an Ehrendolch though he qualified for one. However, this is not the first time I have found mistakes or discrepancies in the records.

Enjoy!
