Went to St. Joe Mo. for a day vacation,kids&wife.The military musemum is cool,jesse james death house&Pony expess station too.Hit some antique shops got this helmet&liner for 25.00,liner is red and looks original era paint,helmet is front seam fixed bale with chin strap,paint looks original,dont know about the liner with red paint,could this be original to helmet shell?I have a kaki ww2 liner I can put in it.Any help would be appreciated. Smile

That looks like an early low pressure liner. Many of those liners were discontinued once the pressed duck ones came out, as they didn't hold up well to edge damage. They had cheaper suspensions put in them and were sold as toys for kids, and possibly safety helmets for workers.

Nice early steel helmet though!
