That's why I won't buy something like this off of Ebay. I am not knowledgeable by a long shot. The seller likely knows it's a fake, but has no problem taking money for a real one. That's whay I love this site! Harry

Thanks Rob for your..sharpened as a razor answer.
But I'm astonished about the 'superficiality' of those bidders: before putting 3/4k on the plate I would ask and check here and there....on the contrary, that bidder seems knowing what he's doing... mmaaahhh, what a wonderful world!

I do not think that people do spend that kind of money for these ebay relics.I think it go's against human nature.

Well it sold for EUR 3,250.00 I don't recall the ebay cut from the selling price but I'm pretty damn sure that this listing just cost the seller some money Love it when a seller get's bit for the ebay cut. The reason I say this is that some people are dumb, but not THAT dumb.

I think some people are just willfully stupid. There are three known original snow camo paras on Planet Earth. I have known where they were for over 20 years. The last one to change hands sold for $18,000 two years ago, between friends. How anybody seriously imagines they are going to buy a real snow camo para for 1/5th of the fair market value is beyond me.

One thing I have learned over the past few years is that one cannot save those bent on making a mistake. I used to send warnings out to folks about to step on a land mine and found that while some were thankful, the majority seemed to think I was trying to "steal" their find. After numerous nastygrams and accusations from sellers of bid interference, I simply gave it up. Cheers & tears, -Mike

Mike ...in that case they deserve everything they get! the last time i warned a bidder about a fake helmet, i got a nasty email from ebay warning me about my future conduct & not to interfere again.probably thought their commission was in danger. i too now leave these fools to their fate... Bill
