Claymore, did you note the M1/63 example in the link above that showed the round pin plate? It also had a period behind the 17./18.
I see no reason why the set up in question could not be period on these aluminum versions. Some aluminum tinnie pins were held in place in this way.
My one question would be the impressed RZM M1/63 as opposed to raised.
