Photos supplied by the Blankwaffen-Shop.
I have no idea about these types of daggers. However, my thoughts are tending to make me believe that this is either a repro or a parts dagger? My reasons are that I think, that this being a first model, that it should have nickel silver parts, these look like aluminium... maybe? Also, the eagle's beak doesn't look right when I compare it to others that I've seen on the net.
What are your thoughts on this dagger?

Generally the dagger looks ok what I can see from the pics. It is a 2nd model. BUT: RLB-NCO daggers are very often faked so a very careful in hand inspection by an experienced collector would be necessary. The eagles beak also is ok, it is a known variant. See attached my 2nd Mod unmarked (unquestionable) with what I think is the same crossguard. Regards,

Wotan... the beak on your bird tends to point downwards, the beak on the other one looks like it points upwards? Also, do you know if there should be a screw at the top of the scabbard?

As sokol said, there should one be (on the obverse). Concerning the beak - it COULD be the angle of the pic. If the crossguard is a plain aluminium one and the pommel is a plated one it COULD be a parts dagger or a once denazified crossguard was replaced. As said, in my opinion an in hand inspection would be necessary.

Thanks guys... I've taken a huge risk and bought it. Will post some "proper" pictures when I receive it, hopefully by the end of the week.

Is it just me or do the ends of the crossguard look different? One looks rounded, the other angular. Mine has the more rounded ends.

I finally received the dagger today. It was already taken down and now I'm having huge problems putting it back together again, it just doesn't seem to screw in properly.
The grip smells like plastic, (I think)? The enamel on the swaz seems to come off fairly easily, the scabbard looks like it was painted yesterday and the buffer pad looks fairly new.
As mentioned, I don't know anything about these daggers and I'm not getting a good overall feeling for it.
My opinions on this mean nothing, what are your opinons from the following photos? Is it real, parts or just a complete fake?

Just a quick remark, that tang is so far from any original I have seen that I can not believe this dagger is original.
Sorry

While apparently an unfortunate purchase, I think it is a good display of questionable parts for us to study. I have fault with the grip insignia, the grip, and the blade.
I would really like to see Wotan go through this and give his opinions.
SDP, Are you going to be able to get your Pounds back?

Forget this piece and get your money back! I've owned at least six of these in the past and this resembles none of those.

Guys, unless luck comes my way, I don't see me getting any money back.
Really, it's my fault, I was the one that took the chance. It was getting towards the end of the auction and even though I did email him with questions before it finished, I left it way too late, hence me taking chances. To be fair, the Seller probably wouldn't have had time to respond, he may not have even received my email through the auction site quick enough? So really, why should the Seller offer me a refund?
My problem now is, the dagger doesn't assemble, it won't screw in. The thread on the tang isn't long enough when the buffer pad is in place. If I take the buffer pad off, it still won't tighten properly, (maybe the thread is stuffed altogether) and then it also leaves the gap between the blade and crossguard.
I have emailed the Seller about the thread a couple of times today but am yet to receive a response. I have a feeling that I'm not going to hear from him anyway.
It will be tuff to sell this dagger...

If this was sold as an original piece then the seller should refund your money - where did you buy this piece and how much did you put down on it ?

This is the response I received from the Seller:
n the auction nothing stands from an original more dagger, and it was one privataukion, as it also stood in the description. and I do not sell daggers for well-known and have a notion of it.
and in German:
in der auktion steht nichts von einem original dagger, und es war eine privataukion, wie es in der beschreibung auch stand. und ich verkaufe die daggers fr bekannten und habe keine ahnung davon

This was the original description on the auction site:
RLB Dolch mit dem Hersteller Paul Wayersberg & Co. Solingen, Lnge ca. 36 cm. Keine Scharten, Rost oder Kratzer etc. Zustand 1-, leichte Kratzspuren, warscheinlich von der Scheide entstanden. TOP Zustand, Ab 1, deswegen auch privatauktion!Nur 5 Tage!Persnliche besichtigung vor Auktionsende mglich,Deutschland 7
... and very loosley translated into English:
RLB dolch with the manufacturer Paul Wayersberg & Co. Solingen, length approx.. 36 cm. No scharten, rust or scratch etc.. Condition 1 -, light scratch marks, warscheinlich of the sheath developed. TOP condition, starting from 1?, therefore also privatauktion!Nur 5 Tage!Persoenliche inspection before auction end possible, Germany 7

SDP,
I am so sorry to hear about you getting cheated on this dagger. He definitely sold it under the guise of being original.
If it would help ease the blow, I nominate you for the "Wound Badge" tag under your name. I say you qualify.

Okay then... Seller's I.D. is, "alcoso". When he responds to emails, he's known as, "Blankwaffen-Shop". His real name is Arthur Mueller. Email addresses are [email protected] and [email protected]He says he's located in Hannover but I have a Berlin address for him.
