They are quite undervalued in comparaison to any SS blades. An NSKK Officer Chained was much rarer than any SS Chained dagger, though they only sell for half the SS value.

Whether they are plated or not doesn't really affect their value all that much, or else, every SS "
plated" chained would also sell for less...........which isn't the case.
I don't think that the story will be any different when Wittmann's book comes out next year. Why ? Simply because we all already know that such a book will be coming out and up to now, nothing has happened to the value of an NSKK Chained dagger.
About 3 years ago, a "near mint" NSKK M36 was selling for about 2500$ USD but in today's market, they usually sell for 3500$ USD. Still a nice increase of about + 40%... ain't too bad.
Here's mine and whether or not they are popular, I still wouldn't trade it.
They are still a great looking piece and a must for any serious collector.
